Figure 88. The journey of the soul is analogous to that of a raindrop, which is reborn many times. Purification comes through love and sacrifice. Purified souls return to the creator. As a result, the creator grows. Bad souls return to earth, attempting purification once again.

Here we need to note a distinction between the physical and metaphysical worlds. The rules of the physical world are simple: if I have £1 and you have £1 and we exchange them, then I have £1 and you have £1. This seems to prove that in the physical world we cannot get something for nothing. The metaphysical world, though, is not the same: if I have one idea and you have one idea, I can give you my idea and you can give me your idea. I now have two ideas and you also have two ideas. We can double our creative wealth at no cost.

Taking this one step further, individuals can increase their ‘emotional and spiritual’ wealth at no cost. All of the messianic teachers, throughout the ages, have promoted the ethos of ‘love thy neighbour’. Could it be that if I love you I can double my voltage, my emotional and spiritual energy? The soul voltage grows. This creative energy, when released from my decaying body, could then return to its source, fulfilling the creator’s objective of growth. This would reconcile the divine objective of growth, with periodic physical destruction, with the need to repatriate purified soul energy. Whenever physical destruction takes place, purified souls would return to the creator. It thus makes sense to destroy the world periodically because the amount of universal love grows as a consequence.

We have seen how physical destruction is accommodated through solar-inspired catastrophe cycles (Appendix 1) and now need to accommodate the notion of reincarnation. If one person hates another, soul voltage falls, as the hate eats away within. The soul voltage of such a person depletes, like an ever-discharging battery. Souls that have reduced their voltage during their physical lifetime must, within such a framework, return to earth, on physical ‘death’, for another attempt at purification.
